Schools of Choice Program Information

The nine school districts in St. Joseph County, with the support of the ISD, offer a Schools of Choice program that allows students and families residing in St. Joseph County Intermediate School District to attend any public school within St. Joseph County ISD. Additionally, the section 105c Schools of Choice program extends this opportunity to students and families residing in Branch ISD, Cass ISD, Kalamazoo RESA, or Van Buren ISD, allowing them to attend any of the nine public school districts within St. Joseph County. 
 
Please note - there are different packets and deadlines depending on your residency:
 
    • Residents of St Joseph County ISD: Submit the St. Joseph County Schools of Choice packet by the county's deadline.
    • Residents of Branch ISD, Calhoun ISD, Cass ISD, Kalamazoo RESA, or Van Buren ISD: Submit the Section 105c Schools of Choice packet by the Section 105c deadline.

  • Families who reside in St. Joseph County ISD can apply for schools of choice to any school district in St. Joseph County ISD.
  • The family must submit one application for each child to the choice district school superintendent's office as soon as possible (before your child's first day of school).
 

*Section 105c Schools of Choice Application Packets - Application window is December 11, 2024 - January 10, 2025 for Constantine Public Schools.

  • Families who reside in Branch, Cass, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, or Van Buren ISD can apply for schools of choice 105c to any school district in St. Joseph County ISD when the application period is open.
  • The family must submit one application for each child to the choice district superintendent’s office by the dates specified in the Application Packet and Public Notices.
