AP LITERATURE & COMPOSITION A & B

Students will be involved in the study and practice of academic, argumentative writing and intensive study of the canon of Western and world literature. This course will survey literature written in or translated into English, beginning with ancient Middle Eastern texts and ending with 20th and 21st century texts. Students will engage in careful reading of literary works, striving to develop critical standards for analyzing and interpreting literature by considering its language, style, themes, structure, imagery, meaning and cultural value.
