Superintendent Pat Breen visits Eastside Elementary to share the partnership with our Falcon Family Involvement Team (FFIT) and how students earns Feathers to spend at the Elementary Store, The Falcon Nest.

I'm superintendent Pat Breen and this is another edition of our Falcon Fly By and I'm here this morning with Rose at Eastside Elementary Rose we are doing the Falcon Nest this morning and Rose has some falcon feathers and a pretty cool pen that she got today so Rose how did you get these falcon feathers what did you have to do to get those helping people and learning helping people and learning so when you do something really nice your teacher might give you 1 of those when you're doing something really good and how many did you have today before you shopped up the nest 25 25 so then you got to spend you're falcon feathers and you spent how many did you spend today you spent 20 and what'd you get with that a pen so you you like that pen do you like the Falcon Nest program does it help you remember to do things uh be kind and do things right well very good well thanks for talking with me today Rose and thanks for earning all those falcon feathers I'm here with Carrie and Malerie and we are working the Falcon Nest right now and a little bit about this this is a positive incentive it's part of our PBIS program it's a reward system for when students are behaving well they're being kind they're going that extra mile to uh do something nice for their for their peers and when teachers recognize this they give them a falcon feather and the the reward part of it is they get to shop at the Falcon Nest and that is run by our Falcon our FFIT team and the leadership here uh is Carrie and so Carrie tell us a little bit about what you guys do to help with this um so our part mainly is just that we Supply anything that the kids do get to shop with um or so we try to pick different things we take opinions from the kids on what they like or we notice what our own kids are really into but so far the kids have loved everything so the hot stuff like this year has been the skateboards the fidget Spinners are always big I see they learn how to spend tickets and save tickets and it's a good lesson on you know I have this many so I can spend 10 and save for the next time so they're learning along the way and how to save and how to spell wise it's a great program we see some students that have racked up a lot of their feathers so it's it's been great and thank you guys for all you do for the following teams it's all volunteers and anybody interested posted in joining FFIT to help them out this takes a lot of time and effort so feel free to reach out to Carrie if you're interested in joining in and helping out in this great program
